Written in the Stars
A Divine Event and The Design Studio recently hosted their bi-annual showcase at Flint Hill, inspired by the 1969 lunar landing. Space, stars, and constellations evoke a feeling of mysticism and romance in all of us, and the team captured that perfectly with this celestial motif. This “under the stars” theme features large glass panels, lots of open space, and geometric lines and details. The floral arrangements and color-blocked decor add a bright contrast to the glimmering backdrop fit for star-crossed lovers.
Rich drapes, sparkling linens, and low lighting are all essential elements of this whimsical theme, with vibrant details to make the decor light up like stars in the night. The wedding begins at sundown, just in time for the glow of twilight to bathe the atmosphere in its magic. For the ceremony, the hanging tivoli lights and crystal chandelier dress up the enchanting ramada, with gold accents leading up the steps. Masses of dyed baby’s breath and blue plumosa bring some pizazz to the florals, a cost-effective way to dress up your ceremony. A deep blue crescent moon staged in the center of the ramada is a unique backdrop for this intergalactic affair.
Moving into the reception, the room feels both inviting and enchanting. Dramatic shades of navy and plum create a nighttime sky, and the lighted elements, placed thoughtfully around the space, shimmer with reflections. Twinkle lights peppered throughout the decor, tall mirrors for signage, and a hanging disco ball all add to the glittery atmosphere; while geometric golden lanterns, glass and mercury candleholders, and floating centerpiece candles create a golden hour glow. A welcome sign greets guests with the phases of the moon, and seating cards are personalized with an astrological seating card, a fun conversation starter for guests getting to know one another.
For dinner, A Divine Event is ready to accommodate whatever your palette craves. Signature drinks are served at the Pavilion bar, strung with tivoli lights and complete with hanging stars and constellations of flowers. Purple uplighting beneath the neon sign reading “Written in the Stars” directs the eye upward to the starry night decor. Each table features a centerpiece of lanterns, vases, and tea lights, dazzling to create a night-sky ambiance. The bride and groom’s chairs are adorned with “Mr.” and “Mrs.” moon signs, and above, floral arrangements, with a mix of light and dark, all add to this cosmic motif. For dessert, a galaxy-themed cake shining with its blue fondant and splashed with splatters of white stars, ends the meal with a note of “I love you to the moon and back.”
The showcase at Flint Hill was an immense success, and Up & Up Weddings was there to capture the magic as soon-to-be-couples were emboldened to explore new themes for fall and winter weddings. Let yourself be inspired by our unique decorations and delectable menu options. A Divine Event is ready to create a personalized menu for your reception, complete with cosmic-inspired drinks and desserts. The Design Studio will light up your nighttime sky with a moonlit glow and dramatic decor. Much like the moon landing itself, people will leave your wedding asking themselves, “what did I just experience”?
